When I started as a professional photographer in 2008, I quickly learned that the more I could help my client relax and have fun in front of the camera, the better the pictures turned out. A photographer can do all kinds of different lighting, posing and retouching, but nothing replaces a genuine smile.
After really enjoying High School Senior Photography, people started asking me about Wedding Photography. At first, I would politely decline and refer them to another photographer. Then I started wondering to myself, “Why don’t I photograph weddings?” So I started learning about Wedding Photography, assisted another photographer and with the encouragement of my family and peers, I photographed my first wedding in 2009. I loved it.
I have a passion for helping others feel confident enough to bust out their inner model and realize how beautiful they truly are. My business, Kimberly April Photography, is based out of Surf City, Huntington Beach, California. My number 1 goal (besides creating awesome images) is to make sure my client leaves their Photo Shoot or Wedding feeling like they had more fun than they ever thought possible.
When I’m not smiling behind the camera, I’m usually at the beach, playing with my dogs or planning our next road trip. (I’ve traveled Route 66 twice!) I also frequently go to meet-ups with other photographers to continue improving my craft and get involved in my community.
