Orange County is filled with amazing people doing the best they can to make a difference in the lives of others.  When I moved here to attend Chapman University, I knew this is where I wanted to call home.

Growing up in a family of public servants instilled in me the importance of giving back.  My dad is a retired firefighter and my mom recently retired from the Chino Police Department.

I’m biracial (Mexican & Caucasian) which gave me the privilege of being raised with two cultures and a big family.  I believe everyone is important, regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation.

When I opened Kimberly April Photography in 2011, I started with photographing weddings.  The experience of photographing beautiful details, working under pressure and supporting my clients during an emotional time has helped me become an event photographer who understands how to make everyone look their best at any moment.

I love anticipating little bits of joy and engagement amongst guests.  Above all, I love being able to be part of a team, helping organizations make connections that really matter.

I love hiking and exploring new places.  Some of my favorite adventures have been backpacking with my sister!

Mya & Stitch

AKA Baby Cakes and Little Man.  My dogs are my furry children and spend most of the day taking naps in the sun.

Family is my number 1 priority in life.  My husband and I have been together since 2005 and I have regular lunch dates with my grandma.

It’s a bit of an obsession.  They’re the first thing I’m drawn to at any event and I love surprising people with bouquets.

It started because my dad and husband wanted to learn to surf.  Now I’m in a women’s surf club and couldn’t imagine life without my surf sisters.

I’m a bird nerd.  I love identifying native plants too.  This is when my past life as a park ranger starts to show.

It’s important to me to make time to volunteer with organizations who are making a positive impact in the community.  These two have my heart.

Girls Inc. teaches girls to be; Strong, Smart and Bold!  I love working with them throughout the year and every summer I teach photography to 9th & 10th graders at Eureka!

Waves of Valor is an annual event in Huntington Beach hosted by Team RWB where we teach military veterans to surf.
